Ruth previously worked for a small but rapidly expanding mail order company, preparing their accounts. With the arrival of her children she decided it was time for a change and joined us in 2000 as an Administrator. Through sheer hard work she progressed up to Insolvency Manager, then in 2006 she gained her ACCA qualification and a first class degree in Applied Accounting, followed by her Certificate of Proficiency in Insolvency.
She passed her Joint Insolvency Examinations Board in 2009 and recently became a member of the Association of Business Recovery Professionals. As Alison Byrne comments "We’ve supported her through the process but to achieve all that whilst also doing the job is a huge achievement".
Ruth now divides her time between handling Individual Voluntary Arrangements, Members’ Voluntary Liquidations, Bankruptcies and Liquidations, and being a member of our management team, as Compliance Officer. She ensures that everything is done within the regulations and the required deadlines, and helps everyone in the practice keep up with the latest rule changes.
"I really enjoy the variety. The clients are so different, and it’s great to have two roles – it’s always interesting. I especially love big cases where there are a lot of assets to be sorted out, and it’s extremely satisfying when you get the best possible result for creditors."
Ruth plays competitive badminton and enjoys the outdoors, in particular walking and cycling.
